→ CHARACTER DETAILS

Action Characteristics:
Speed -- of average levels; Lichenpaw is small and quick, though not the fastest sprinter. She is agile and more suited to moving about easily or going long distances.
Endurance -- quite high; she can keep going for a while. A lower speeds, but it will last longer. She also persists at things longer than some.
Tactical -- high; her mind is her most valuable resource and she is very good at planning and analyzing.
Strength -- considerably low; Lichenpaw is a very small-built cat and has little physical muscle power.
Attack -- a bit less than medium; She is better at defense and dodging rather than straight-on attacking.
Mercy -- medium; she tends not to pity others very much and will be as harsh as needed. Though she obeys the warrior code, she really won't hesitate to harm.

Personality:
Solitary: Being one of her most obvious traits, Lichenpaw is quite anti-social. She doesn't say much, and likes to watch rather than participate. She is somewhat of an outsider; has trouble making friends or even starting a conversation. Her voice is always hesitant except when she's angry. Lichenpaw portrays a slightly mysterious aspect due to her solitary nature, and many just see her as she whisks away.

Pessimistic: She is one of those cats who sees the stream as half dry rather than half full. There's always something bad she can notice, always something that sets her down a bit. She tends to be very serious because of this, and never hopes for much. Lichenpaw also has a very realistic view on life to most, though if she opens up a bit more she becomes more imaginative and more interesting. Which is another reason that she's not often noticed--there is just something dull about her constant frown and skirting, wary movements.

Intellectual: When she does show interest in something, it's obvious that she likes to learn. She enjoys studying the world around her--usually on her own--and finds nature to be a better companion as of now. She is cunning and enjoys knowing more than those around her, though often she won't show it. There is a slightly competitive aspect to her that she keeps more hidden, but flares up once in awhile.

Rational: Lichenpaw keeps a level head throughout most situations. Despite her shyness she tends to be very calm and observant, not spooking at most things. She likes to find solutions to problems and explaining them to herself, fully analyzing them. When there is danger she does not panic or wail like a kit, but simply sits and ponders what to do about it.

Faithful: If it so happens that she does become close to another cat, they will find themselves with a lasting bond. Though Lichenpaw is slow to trust someone, she will become very loyal and attached once she opens up to a friend. She'll put herself before them, get in between them and harm, and never stop loving them. Therefore something like betrayal, would seriously hurt her.

Belligerent: On occasion Lichenpaw will fire up and get very tense about something or someone. Most of the time she is seen as a silent, even-headed she-cat, but there are some things, for example bullying, that will make her angry. Her quietness will usually vanish at this point and she will even go as far as to yowl protests at the source of her anger (if it's another feline). And although she is not the strongest of fighters she doesn't like to back down and will stubbornly stand up for her beliefs or her side of the argument whatever happens. This is where her usual rationality poofs.

Honest: Even to the point of blunt truth, Lichenpaw will give an obedient answer to most anything. She doesn't keep secrets unless it is a very serious matter, and won't keep information from someone. She can be a bit harsh if what she says is cruel, but it will be honest and that is what she believes to be right.

→ HERITAGE & HISTORY

Parents:
Halcyon x Fleetgale - deceased

Siblings:
Covekit - deceased

Backstory:

Before and During Birth
Both of Lichenpaw's parents were both loners when she and her brother were conceived. Her mother was a petite she-cat named Halcyon, and her father a sturdy grey tom named Fleeting. They had met as young cats, becoming best friends and spending much of their time together. As loners, they lived on wild territories relatively near to where the Clans were formed. Halcyon had been abandoned at birth and Fleeting's family had taken her in. She had lived with him nearly her whole life, and their bond was unbreakable.

They reached adulthood in time and Halcyon found she was expecting kits. Both cats were overjoyed, and incredibly proud. They separated from Fleeting's family and wandered their own path while waiting for the kits to be born. Everything was planned out, they were happy, and a family was on the way. However, Halcyon began kitting too early. She collapsed on the ground one fine day and it was obvious the kits were ready to come out. Fleeting was in panic, terrified for his mate, who was loosing blood and panicking herself. Eventually the ordeal was too much, and Halcyon couldn't stay alive any longer. Not before she had kitted two little kittens, a light brown tabby and a tiny grey smoke point. Fleeting broke down, but wrapped himself around the kits and promised to love them. However, he realized the bigger one was weakening and despite his efforts died in his paws. Now all he had was the little grey she-cat, who was growing cold.

In blind desperation, he wandered around with the kit dangling from his mouth. It was then that he happened upon the newly-formed Clans, specifically the one called ShadowClan. They were kind enough to take him in, give the kit a foster mother, and offer him a new life as a warrior. He accepted the name Fleetgale and watched over his daughter, whom he named Lichenkit.

Kithood

Lichenkit was a shy, timid kit that stuck to her foster mother, Frogbreeze, almost all the time. Only her father could coax her out, and she loved his frequent visits. Although she refrained from playing and interacting with the other young cats, she grew steadily and content on the love of her surviving parent. She did not fill out much, and remained very small for her entire kithood and even now is puny. Lichenkit was four moons when Fleetgale died, in a sudden burst of greencough. Frogbreeze was taken by the illness as well. She still grieves for her father, and wishes he had told her more of her mother, whom he did say she was very similar too. Lichenkit was young enough that she didn't completely fall apart at the death, but still knew enough to be very sad. But there was a happy day coming up.
Her apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship
She got her name merely two days ago, and is eager to learn despite her quietness.

RP SAMPLE

From Another Roleplay:
A matched pair of swallows flitted across the medicine cat apprentice's vision. Her eyes followed them as they darted among the branches, chirruping softly and caring the air with delicate wings. Sprucepaw refrained from reaching out. They weren't close enough to even clip with her paw. She admired them as they swirled higher, in perfect unison. In moments they were gone, behind another tree and out of sight. The little she-cat dropped her blue-green gaze and gave a slight shake of her head. The warmth she felt from the leaf-fall sun told her to be on her way, to head home. She would rather not, but knew better than to avoid her duties. Besides, most of them were enjoyable. Why else would she have chosen the path of a medicine cat? With a last quick glance around the waking forest, Sprucepaw slowly got to her paws.

She balanced easily on the branch of the spruce tree, which quivered slightly under her little weight. Then she carefully made her way to the trunk, which was smoother than most deciduous trees and relatively difficult to climb. However, Sprucepaw managed it. After all, that meant that few others would follow her into the tree. She slid her paws over the trunk, preparing to descend. Her tail fluffing out to steady herself, she shot downwards and reached the ground in a half-fall. The petite she-cat paused and shook her long silvery fur out, casting a glance back at the spruce's trunk. Her claws had nicked it in places from the many times she had scaled it. But not too damaging, at least. She rubbed her tail on the tree gently as she stepped away, paws crunching lightly on the leaf-strewn ground. The woods were still quiet, but not as much as they had been when she had first entered them in the pale morning. More bird calls sang through, and faint scuffling of little mammals and reptiles echoed around. It added a familiar touch. However much she enjoyed the silence, it was sometimes good to hear business and life.

Sprucepaw moved along, wading in her thoughts. She expected most of the camp to be awake now, and her mentor included. She wondered what they would be doing today. Herb-gathering, maybe. Or more instructing. Sprucepaw had been apprenticed to Silvernight for barely a quarter-moon, and knew just the very basics of medicinal training. She was eager to learn, though, and found each lesson fascinating. Rather like her brother enjoyed messing around with a lot of other cats, Sprucepaw was at home with a learning task and only one, maybe two other felines. Still, she realized that being a medicine cat was incredibly important, and the Clan would rely on her and Silvernight with their lives. It was a great responsibility, and one that she looked to with excitement and worry all at once.

She reached the camp and slipped quietly inside. It was her way to be inconspicuous, of course. She weaved through the scattered cats without even looking at them. Most of the time she moved through camp with no knowledge of who was out and about. Sprucepaw slowed her steps as she reached the medicine cats' den, and softly entered. Her eyes flicked over the inside, immediately spotting her mentor sitting further back. Sprucepaw made her way politely towards Silvernight, dipping her head in greeting. "Good morning, Silvernight." she mewed in her quiet tone, pricking forwards her ears. She halted a pace from the medicine cat. Then she too sat down, leaning back on her pale haunches and sweeping her thick, long tail around over her front paws.
